The Tucson Rattlers U17 team — led by a 43-point performance by former Ironwood Ridge guard Natalie Bartle yesterday — heads into bracket play this morning after a 2-2 record in pool play of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Atlanta.
They will play the Douglasville (Ga.) Lady Tigers at 10:10 a.m. in a quarterfinal game.
The Rattlers, coached by Pima women’s assistant coach Chris Klassen, split their games yesterday as they played without Cienega High School senior forward Lauren Green.

She has missed the last three games and will not play today because of a foot injury. X-rays revealed no broken bones or fractures from the injury suffered in the Rattlers’ first game in Atlanta on Thursday.
In the first game yesterday, Bartle — who will play her senior season in Michigan — led the Rattlers with 20 points in a 62-49 loss. In the second game, an 82-66 win over Ladies First from Cleveland — Bartle set a Rattlers record with her 43 points.

That tops her previous record of 32 points achieved in a game in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Chicago earlier this month.
She made 17 of 27 field goal attempts in her 43-point performance, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range. She also had seven rebounds and three steals.
Marana’s Baylee Slaughter had 13 points and eight rebounds in the game. Tanque Verde freshman Kiya Dorroh added 11 points and five rebounds.
