Canyon del Oro forward standout Tianna Carter announced her commitment to play for UNLV on Wednesday. The 6-2 junior averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds a game to help lead the Dorados to a 22-6 record last year.

“I started playing basketball when I was eight and it’s amazing to look back and see how far I’ve come. Hard work really does pay off,” Carter said.

“I had several offers I was weighing out. I decided UNLV because I was impressed with the coaches and the program. I love the location because I am close to my family. I think this will be a great fit for me and is a huge blessing and an honor to have this opportunity. I know my family is proud of me and they have been my biggest fans and supported me throughout my life.”
