Pueblo High School and University of Arizona graduate Francisco Romero is living the thrill of calling the Houston Astros’ postseason games as the Spanish broadcasting play-by-play voice of the team.
When the season is over, Romero will still bask in the glory of reaching such a lofty plateau in his career.
Pueblo is scheduled to induct Romero into its Hall of Fame on Nov. 5.

Romero has worked with the Astros since 2008 and is now only two games from calling his first World Series. Houston leads the New York Yankees 2-0 in the best-of-seven American League Championship Series with the teams shifting to New York City for Game 3 tomorrow.
He joined the Astros after spending five seasons broadcasting Milwaukee Brewers games in Spanish on Telemundo Wisconsin. He also has Major League experience calling select games for the Minnesota Twins and Arizona Diamondbacks.
His additional sports broadcasting experience includes both football and basketball for the Arizona Spanish Radio Network from 1999-2008.
