TENNIS: Harsh Parikh & Lindsey Pesqueira start the season off with big wins

48th High School Invitational Tennis Tournament
Jan. 29 – Feb. 5: Reffkin Tennis Center

Tennis season starts in two weeks but we already have a couple of early results from the 48th High School Invitational held at the Reffkin Tennis Center this past week. Salpointe standout Harsh Parikh won the boy’s title for the second year in a row and Rincon/University standout Lindsey Pesqueira won on the girl’s side.

BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP
Harsh Parikh, Salpointe def. Georgia Jiang, Catalina Foothills, 6-4 6-2
Semifinal: George Jiang def. Jon Grammond, 8-5

GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
Lindsey Pesqueira, Rincon/UHS def. Chloe Gavino, Catalina Foothills, 9-7
Semifinal: Chloe Gavino def. Selma Fereres, 8-2
