Mizuno Storm-Mathis/Holtorf went 9-1-1 this past week to capture the championship of the Colorado Sparkler 14U Power Pool Championship. Local standouts Alyssa Aguilar and Logan Cole are members of the team based in the Phoenix area.
Aguilar was the 2018 Southern Arizona Pitcher of the Year after she led Salpointe to a state championship in her freshman year and Cole (middle infield/OF) will be entering Salpointe as a freshman this fall.
Storm beat the Lady Lightning Gold Futures of North Carolina 10-2 in the championship game held Sunday in Erie, Colorado, just east of Boulder.
