Ironwood Ridge standout Jarrod Johnson shot a 3-over-par 147 to take second place at the CEC-Independence Elite held at the TPC San Antonio this past weekend. Johnson was one stroke behind the leaders with a 1-over 73 after the first round but Lake Jackson, Texas standout Jacob Borow shot 7-under in the second round to finish with a 4-under 140.

With his finish, Johnson earned a spot in the Match Play Invitational schedule for late July at the Traditions Club, home of Texas A&M golf in Bryan, Texas. His runner-up finish also reserves a spot for him at the inaugural Texas Junior Golf Tour (TJGT) Elite Cup where the top 22 golfers on the tour will compete at the Stonebriar Country Club located in Frisco, Texas.
