Flowing Wells Invitational
Sept. 7-8

Pusch Ridge went 5-0 to sweep the Flowing Wells Volleyball Invitational held on Friday and Saturday. The Lions have a 9-0 record overall, including five wins over upper-division 4A and 5A opponents. Mountain View went 4-2 to take second place. The Mountain Lions are now 5-5 overall under first-year head coach Jose Robles.

Dana Wahl (87-50) is entering her sixth season with the Lions and her coaching staff includes former University of Arizona standout Beth Raymond Bumb. Bumb still holds the Wildcat record for blocks in a match with 17 against Oregon State in 1986.

Sean Elliott’s niece Geneva Elliott is a sophomore on the team and senior standout Summer McDonough has committed to play beach volleyball for Arizona.

The Mountain Lions sport a trio of six-footers including senior Grace Hala’ufia (6-4), senior Rayne Cox (6-3) and junior Jasmine Coleman-Dunlap (6-0). Expect the Mountain Lions to challenge for the 5A Sonoran title.
