Canyon View’s Klara Jonsson went 4 for 4 at the plate and struck out 14 batters without allowing a hit in 5 2/3 innings to lead her team to a 6-2 win over Flagstaff on Friday night in the Arizona State 10U Little League Softball Tournament at Cottonwood.
Canyon View, the District 5 champs, is 3-0 in the tournament with an average winning margin of seven runs. Canyon View faces Arcadia in the winners bracket final Sunday night at 8 p.m.
Elsie Weege went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run against Flagstaff. Ava Harlow was 3 for 3 with two RBIs.
Arcadia got past Gilbert 2-1 on Friday. Gilbert will play Sunnyside on Saturday night in an elimination bracket game. Sunnyside lost to Gilbert 7-4 in a first round game on Tuesday.
If Sunnyside wins, it advances to the next round of the elimination bracket on Sunday at 5 p.m.
