Former Tucson High standout Summer Avery signs pro volleyball contract

Summer Avery (CBU)

Former Tucson High volleyball standout Summer Avery signed a professional contract to play for Lemesos Club in Limassol, Cyprus.

“All friends and visitors welcome!” Avery posted. “Stoked for this adventure abroad and beyond thankful for all the people that helped me achieve this dream.”

The TucsonCitizen.com/AllSportsTucson.com 2013 Southern Arizona Player of the Year, Avery went on to play beach and indoor for San Jose State before transferring over to play for Cal Baptist for her fifth year. Cal Baptist traveled to Japan this past spring and that’s where Avery got noticed internationally.

Avery will be leaving for Cyprus at the end of September and will compete from October to May of 2020.
