Ironwood Ridge RB Brandon Barrios named APS Digital/Tucson Conquistadores Player of the Week

Ironwood Ridge senior running back Brandon Barrios gained 313 yards on 32 carries to help lead the Nighthawks past Nogales 35-9 last Friday night. Barrios also scored three touchdowns to help move the team to 3-3 on the year. His 313 yards rushing is also a single-game school record.

Fir his efforts, Barrios was named APS Digital/Tucson Conquistadores Player of the Week and he will receive his banner and plaque Tuesday after practice.

Ironwood Ridge came in ranked No. 18 in the 5A Conference and the team will travel to No. 38 Marana (0-6) this Friday. Barrios has 964 career rushing yards and he is looking to pass 1,000 this Friday night.

The updated AIA/MaxPreps rankings will be released Tuesday afternoon.
