Sunnyside went 4-0 at the Brandon Bean Classic to earn the top seed in the quarterfinal round taking place Friday morning at Salpointe. Cienega enters bracket play as the 2-seed.
On the girl’s side, Salpointe is the top seed and Cienega is No. 2. The semifinal round is slated for Friday night at Salpointe and the two championship matches are set for Saturday night.
THE BRANDON BEAN
The Brandon Bean Classic is held every year to honor a former Salpointe player who passed away in 1992 after an on-field collision at a soccer scrimmage. In addition, the tournament also honors former Lancer Laura Kea who died in an auto accident on her way to a soccer tournament.
