Dear Class of 2020,

There is no question that this was never how our high school journey was supposed to end. We have all worked so hard for the last four years, and it should have all culminated with our senior prom, honors night, and finally, graduation. However, losing these final moments doesn’t diminish all that we have achieved. We are an amazingly talented class, and we will all make our mark in life. From our teachers passing out signs to every graduating senior, to our student government organizing an amazing video to remember the time we did get, our Dorado Pride is evident to everyone around us.

I am immensely grateful that I got to be a part of the tradition of excellence that is the CDO softball program. It will always be difficult to think about what this season could have been and what we would have achieved as a team. However, I had the absolute privilege of getting to wear the Dorado uniform and competing with my best friends beside me for three amazing years. For that, I will be forever thankful. To my five fellow softball seniors, I am so incredibly proud of each of you.

As a senior class, we are destined for incredible things. Our classmates will be spread out all across the country, making an impact in college athletics, United States Service Academies, universities and trade schools. We’ve learned to never take a moment for granted, and to give 100% in everything we do, as you never know when it can end. We will take all that we have lost, all the heartbreak, and will go change the world for the better.

Finally, I would like to thank all the teachers, coaches, staff, and mentors at Canyon del Oro High School that helped shape our class into the young adults we all are today. Thank you for your guidance and unconditional support.

Class of 2020, I am so proud of all that we have overcome, and all that we will achieve.

As always, it’s great to be a Dorado.

Katie Stracco
