Salpointe junior quarterback Treyson Bourguet who held a scholarship offer from the University Arizona and Vanderbilt and he cut that complexly in half by committing to play for Wildcats on Wednesday afternoon.

Bourguet helped lead Salpointe to a third-place finish in Arizona’s highest level of competition – the Open Division Playoffs – last year after throwing for 805 yards with 13 touchdowns in seven games, including 243 yards against Pinnacle and 232 against Chandler in state tournament games. Bourguet threw for 453 yards as freshman at Marana in 2018 before transferring to play for Salpointe.

Former Cienega standout Jamarye Joiner was the last highly-recruited QB prospect from Southern Arizona to commit to Arizona. Joiner transitioned to receiver in 2019.
