Playoffs: Catalina Foothills Girls take Second at D-II Cross Country Championships; St. David to 1A Volleyball Semifinals

The Catalina Foothills girls took second to Flagstaff (41 to 79) at the D-II state championships Friday at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. The Falcons also took second place last fall. Sophomore Taylor McCue took fourth place (18:23.0). Ironwood Ridge standout Logan Marek (15:47.4) took fourth on the D-II boy’s side.

Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014, he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017, a 2019 AZ Education News award winner and he has been a youth, high school and college coach for over 30 years. He was the first in Arizona to write about high school beach volleyball and high school girls wrestling.
