The start of Arizona’s 2021 softball season will have to wait until next Friday in the Hillenbrand Invitational at Hillenbrand Stadium after this weekend’s Texas Classic in Austin, Texas, was canceled today due to inclement weather.
Update: The entire Texas Classic has been canceled due to weather.

Arizona, ranked No. 3 in the preseason, was scheduled to play four games in Austin, including matchups with No. 6 Texas and No. 8 Alabama. The team flew to Austin on Wednesday and was scheduled to first face the Longhorns this afternoon.
The Wildcats will now open their season against New Mexico on Feb. 19 in the opening game of the Hillenbrand Invitational.
