Salpointe’s David Cordero signs with Ottawa


Salpointe running back David Cordero announced today he has signed with Ottawa University, an NAIA program based out of Surprise.

Cordero, 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, rushed for 585 yards on 70 carries with three touchdowns in seven games with Salpointe in the fall. The season was limited because of COVID-19 protocol.

In his previous two years running behind Bijan Robinson, Cordero rushed for 1,092 yards on 99 carries, an impressive 11.0 yards per carry, with 15 touchdowns.

Cordero is the 29th local Class of 2021 prospect to make a commitment or sign with college. Here is the list:
