Empire grad Braden Boisvert commits to Oregon State


Empire High School Class of 2019 graduate Braden Boisvert, who is a pitcher/designated hitter at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kan., has announced he is committed to attend Oregon State on a baseball scholarship.

Boisvert was a standout batter at Empire who had a career average of .363 with 28 doubles, nine home runs and 53 RBIs.

His brother Brody, who graduated from Empire last year, is a freshman infielder with Seward County as well.

Braden first attended Scottsdale Community College but after COVID-19 canceled the season last year, he transferred to Seward County, where he has developed into a pitching prospect.

A right-hander, his fastball has been clocked at 94 mph. In one relief appearance so far this season for Seward County, he has struck out four batters in 1 2/3 innings.

He also carries a 4.0 GPA as a student at Seward County.
