Kelsey Siemons & Luke Morrison earn Collegiate Player of the Week honors

Former Cienega standout Luke Morrison was named American Southwest Conference (ASC) Baseball Player of the Week on Monday. The Ozarks junior third baseman hit .666 (8-for-12) with a triple, eight RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base as the Eagles went 2-1 against Sul Ross State. He was 3-for-4 with four RBI in a 13-3 victory over the Lobos according to a release by the conference.

Former Catalina Foothills standout Kelsey Siemons was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after the Colorado Mesa senior nearly pulled off a triple double in the Mavericks win over Western Colorado last week. She finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocked shots. The nine blocked shots is a career-high and tied a program record.

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but collegiate and professional recognitions. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you are aware of anything I have missed along the way, please let me know.
