Marana linebacker Mateo Campos commits to Carroll University


Marana linebacker Mateo Campos became the 35th local Class of 2021 prospect to commit to a college program with his pledge to NCAA Division III program Carroll University of Waukesha, Wis.

Campos, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, is one of four Tigers from the Class of 2021 who have been offered scholarships.

The others are wide receiver/safety Kai Spencer, athlete Isaiah Roebuck and lineman Joshua Hendrickson.

“I choose Carroll because they had something I didn’t see a whole lot of in the other schools,” Campos mentioned. “They had a sense of family between their players and it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

Campos is tentatively planning on studying business.
