The wait is over for Aari McDonald.
The WNBA first-round draft pick from Arizona made her first field goal for the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday with 4:06 left in the first quarter, a 3-pointer, in their 90-83 win over the host Chicago Sky.
McDonald, who had a streak of 93 straight games in double-figure scoring in her Arizona career, had only one point on a free throw in the Dream’s first two games of the season.

She played a total of 27 minutes in those two games against the Connecticut Sun and Chicago at home.
The Dream lost both of those games before defeating the Indiana Fever last Friday with McDonald on the bench the entire game.
McDonald entered Tuesday’s game against the Sky with 4:49 left in the first quarter. She made her first shot in her WNBA career 43 seconds later with a wide-open 3-pointer on a feed from Tiffany Hayes.

McDonald finished with nine points and five assists in 17 minutes off the bench. She made 3 of 8 from the field and 2 of 3 from the free-throw line.
Atlanta (2-2) on Thursday hosts the Dallas Wings, who have started 1-2 despite being one of the preseason favorites to challenge for the WNBA title.
