The Jet apparently has found a new runway.
Former Arizona All-American and current UA assistant men’s basketball coach Jason Terry is reportedly set to become the head coach of the Denver Nuggets’ G League team. The job is in Grand Rapids.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted the news earlier today. Earlier this summer, Wojnarowski reported Terry was being considered to join the Dallas Mavericks staff under coach Jason Kidd.
Wojnarowski wrote Terry “wanted to get on a path to becoming a head coach after an NBA career that included a championship with Mavs in 2011 and an NBA sixth-man of year award in 2009.”
After a long career in the NBA, Terry joined former UA coach Sean Miller’s staff for one year. He was then retained by current coach Tommy Lloyd.
The job opening could lead a way for former UA All-American guard Jason Gardner to step in Terry’s spot. Gardner was hired last month to be a player relations advocate for the program.
