Former University of Arizona and FC Tucson Women keeper Lainey Burdett signed on to play for Åland United last week. Located in the Åland Islands of Finland, the club competes in the Kansallinen Liiga which is the premier women’s football league in Finland.

Burdett played for the Orlando Pride as Supplemental Player in 2019 and she was waived in 2020 from the supplemental roster. The Pride was forced to withdraw from the Challenge Cup right after Burdett was waived due to a COVID outbreak by other players on the squad.

Burdett also served as the keeper coach for Salpointe in the 2019-2020 season. Current Arizona and FC Tucson Women keeper Hope Hisey holds that position this winter.
