Canyon del Oro went 8-0 to capture the championship of the Dorado Classic held at Lincoln Park in Tucson including a 12-6 win over Mesa Mountain View (7-1) in the championship final on Saturday….

CDO comes back to beat Sunnyside at the Chris Moon Memorial
Sunnyside scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take an early lead over Canyon del Oro Saturday at Cherry Field in the championship game of the Chris Moon Memorial Classic but the Dorados fought back for a 7-3 victory.
Armando Valenzuela collected a 2-RBI double to pace the early lead for the Blue Devils. The Dorados scored two runs in the bottom of the second on an RBI triple from Tarrell Reid and an RBI from Michael Jones. Canyon del Oro took the lead for good I bottom of the fourth on a triple from Jones and an RBI double from Chris Humphreys.
The Dorados plated three more runs in the fifth inning for the 7-3 final. Grant Young picked up the victory in relief of Humphreys.
Canyon del Oro (4-0) will host Vista Grande (1-2) on Tuesday to start the regular season and Sunnyside (3-2) will travel to Casa Grande (2-1) on the same night.
