Gallego Fine Arts Intermediate, a fourth-through-eighth grade school, has captured the Sunnyside Unified School Disrict Middle School softball championship.
Gallego defeated Challenger 10-8 in five innings in the championship game played at Desert View High School on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats, who went unbeaten in their season, rallied behind home runs hit by Ashley Rosthenhausler and Carissa Palomarez.
The Rosthenhausler and Palomarez families are synonymous with success in the Sunnyside School District.
