Sun Belt College League: Ochoa’s 4 hits, 4 RBIs puts Rebels back in first place


Recaps from Tuesday’s games:

VAIL REBELS 15, SPEEDWAY GAMBLERS  5

The Rebels regained first place with a 15-5 victory over the Speedway Gamblers, coupled with the Old Tucson Gauchos’ tie with the Nighthawks.

Angel Ochoa (SE Oklahoma State) had four hits and drove in four runs and Terrell Huggins (North Dakota State) had three hits for the Rebels.

Devin Lopez (Cerro Coso, Calif.) was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out three.

Cougar Cooke (Show Low) drove in both Gambler runs.

NORTHWEST NIGHTHAWKS 6, OLD TUCSON GAUCHOS  6

The Nighthawks scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to gain the tie with the Old Tucson Gauchos.

Alex Milone (Milwaukee Area Tech) and Andres Gonzalez (South Mountain CC) each had three hits and drove in two runs for the Gauchos.

Shane Melick (Ironwood Ridge High School) had two hits including a home run and Mason Saint Hilarie (Ironwood Ridge) had three hits and three runs batted in to lead the Nighthawks

CATALINA AZTECS 8, OLD PUEBLO KINGS 2

Benji Cazares (Tucson High School/Pima CC) had another big night at the plate for the Aztecs collecting three hits and driving in two runs.

Isaiah Pintor (Pima CC) and Luis Garcia (South Mountain CC) had two hits apiece for the Aztecs.

Andrew Calloway (Arizona) was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and one earned run with eight strikeouts.

Carlos Molina (Paradise Valley CC) and Alex Stephens (Dickinson State) drove in both of the Kings’ runs.
