Former Pusch Ridge and Pima pole vaulter Jaida Olson to compete for Grand Canyon

Pima standout pole vaulter Jaida Olson (Pusch Ridge) announced her commitment to continue her collegiate career competing for Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. The Antelopes compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) as a Division I institution.

Olson won the NJCAA Division I National Championship in the Women’s Pole Vault with a mark of 3.46 meters (11-feet, 4.25-inches) last year. Olson also claimed the NJCAA Region I crown in the Pole Vault with a vault of 3.36 meters (11-feet, 0.25-inches). Olson’s record-setting mark of 3.80 meters (12-feet, 5.50-inches) was attained at the ACCAC Championships.

Olson earned NJCAA All-American, All-Region and All-ACCAC conference honors and she was also named Second Team NJCAA All-Academic for the 2021-22 season (3.80-3.99 GPA).
