Pusch Ridge senior lineman Will Way, who recently decommitted from South Dakota, is headed to another FCS program coached by some familiar names in Tucson.
Idaho State coach Charlie Ragle and defensive ends coach Vince Amey — assistant coaches during the Rich Rodriguez era at Arizona — have swayed Way to make a commitment to the Bengals.
Way announced his commitment on Sunday night via Twitter:
I’m excited to announce my commitment to play D1 football for Idaho State University! I’d like to thank my parents, coaches and teammates for helping me along this journey. Go Bengals! @VinceAmey @RagleCharlie @JavierJMorales @gridironarizona @PrepRedzoneAZ @tlstevens80 pic.twitter.com/Eg2jXV5jaJ

Amey, a former Arizona State standout who was also an assistant at Marana and Ironwood Ridge, was in attendance Friday when Pusch Ridge hosted Safford in the regular-season finale.
The Lions (9-1) began their quest for a 3A state championship Friday. The third-seeded team will host No. 14 ALA-West Foothills (5-5) — the same team Pusch Ridge defeated 37-7 to open the season.
Idaho State, 1-7 in Ragle’s first season as head coach, is a developing program with Southern Arizona talent already on the roster.
Among them are former Ironwood Ridge teammates Sam Benjamin and Myles Amey (both defensive linemen) and former Arizona receiver Jalen Johnson, who played in 19 games with the Wildcats from 2019-2021.
