No. 5 Cienega beat No. 14 Catalina Foothills 3-0 Tuesday night on the road to improve to a perfect 13-0 in power-ranking matches. The defending 5A state champions will host No. 11 Ironwood Ridge on Thursday night for the 5A Southern Region title but the Bobcats are playing to remain perfect with the higher seeds hosting the playoff rounds all the way through the semifinals…..

Cienega head coach Heather Mott has a combined 509 career wins between the girls (280) and the boys (229) and she is looking to be the first coach from Southern Arizona to win back-to-back state championships on the boy’s side since Heather Moore-Martin led Catalina to state titles in 2010 and 2011.
