FALL REGION CHAMPIONS
Mica Mountain captured the 4A Gila Region championship in volleyball by beating Sahuarita last Thursday. This is the second region championship for the program in the two years they were eligible to compete for a region title. The Thunderbolts are 20-0 in region games in program history with two more still to be played this week.
Several region championships in other volleyball regions can be decided on Tuesday night.
The Play-In Tournament for teams ranked No. 9-24 from 2A-6A is set for Tuesday, Oct. 31. The 1A first round will also be played on Tuesday night and the first round for 4A-6A will be played on Thursday, Nov. 2. The first round for 2A and 3A is set for Saturday, Nov. 4.
