The PGA National High School Golf Association released its rankings for the 2023-2024 year this week and Hamilton is the top-ranked boys program in the country with an average round of 284.
Hamilton won the AIA Division I state championship over Brophy. Brophy came in ranked No. 4 in the nation. Ironwood Ridge won the D-II state championship and the Nighthawks came in ranked No. 5 along with Notre Dame, the D-II state runner-up. Catalina Foothills took third at the D-II state tournament and the Falcons came in ranked half a stroke behind Ironwood Ridge and Notre Dame.
Catalina Foothills standout Chase Cesarek came in ranked No. 25 and he is the highest ranking golfer from Southern Arizona based on average round. Salpointe senior Lily Huether is the highest ranked girl from Southern Arizona at No. 60.
The rankings can change after the spring D-III golf season. The state champion teams are invited to participate in the national tournament, typically held in July.
