Former CDO, Arizona RB Stevie Rocker headed to Montana

Former Canyon del Oro and Arizona running back Stevie Rocker announced on Monday morning he is headed to FCS powerhouse Montana.

The Grizzlies, coached by Bobby Hauck, are coming off a national championship appearance against South Dakota State.

They have 19 Big Sky championships and two national titles in 1995 and 2001.

“I chose them because I believe the team can make it back to the championship,” Rocker messaged AllSportsTucson.com. “With everyone that is there, we’ll be big time.

“Also love the environment. It’s a little cold but it’s a beautiful place, and man, does Missoula (Mont.) love their Grizzlies. Just a big opportunity for me around some even greater people.”

Rocker joined Arizona in 2021 as one of the top-20 rated prospects in the state by Rivals.

As a sophomore with the Dorados in 2018, he rushed for 1,163 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. His last two seasons were beset by a knee injury and COVID-19 restrictions.

In 2021 as a freshman at Arizona, he played in 11 games and started against California.

He had 31 carries for 153 yards for an average of 4.9 yards per carry. He also caught seven passes for 59 yards.

He rushed eight times for 87 yards against Washington, including a 52-yard run.
