Sunnyside senior Audrey Jimenez made history when she became the first female wrestler to win a state championship involving competition with boys when the Blue Devils claimed their 37th state title on Feb. 17.

Jimenez, who won the Division 1 title in the 106-pound weight class, also became the first female wrestler to win four state championships.

The following week, Jimenez earned a bronze medal in the 2024 Pan Am Games at Puerto Rico.

She capped off the month by announcing last week that she will attend Lehigh University at Bethelem, Pa.

For her historic achievements, especially in the month of February, Jimenez is the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month for February.
