Former San Manuel pitcher Jazmyne Waddell (Pima) earned her second consecutive D-I Pitcher of the Week honor after earning two wins last week. Waddell threw 11.1 innings allowing seven earned runs. Waddell threw five shutout innings in a 10-0 win over Scottsdale and struck out five.
Former Mountain View standout Talia Martin (Pima) went 7 for 15 from the plate, doubling twice, while recording a triple and homering in four wins last week. Martin drove in three runs, two of which came in an 11-9 win over Yavapai.
This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to win either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level.
