Former Tucson High standout Myranda Moreno was selected first team All-ACCAC and second team All-Region I with Pima. She shot a season-best 74 (2-over par) on April 15 in the final regular season round at the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational. She averaged 83.8 per round this season and earned three medals.
Former Marana standout Kayley Yanez was named second team All-ACCAC and second team All-Region I for Pima. She shot a season-best 76 (4-over par) in the final round at the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational on April 15. She averaged 87.3 per round this season.
Mississippi Braves right-handed pitcher Ian Mejia (Sahuarita and Pima) was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week, as announced Monday by Minor League Baseball. Mejia, 24, Atlanta’s 11th round selection in 2022 out of New Mexico State, tossed 7 scoreless innings on two hits against Pensacola on Saturday, striking out seven and walking just one in the 2-0 M-Braves victory.
