Pac-12 regular-season & tournament champ Arizona hosting NCAA regionals this week

After some concern over Arizona’s No. 31 RPI rating with 16 regional hosting sites available for the NCAA tournament, the Wildcats can breathe easy.

The NCAA baseball tournament selection committee selected Arizona’s Hi Corbett Field as a regional site for the postseason competition that begins this week.

The bracket field will be announced on Monday at 9 a.m., Tucson time.

The NCAA announced the 16 regional host sites on Sunday night via Twitter (X).

Arizona (36-21) earned the Pac-12 regular-season and conference tournament championships in the last two weeks with thrilling walk-off wins over Oregon State and USC, respectively.

The Wildcats’ Pac-12 tournament championship on Saturday night, a 4-3 victory over USC, likely clinched the opportunity for them to host. Their 21 losses are the most of any team hosting.

The 16 regional sites, with host institutions and records are as follows:

  • Athens, Ga. – Georgia (39-15)
  • Chapel Hill, N.C. – North Carolina (42-13)
  • Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia (41-15)

  • Bryan-College Station, Texas – Texas A&M (44-13)
  • Corvallis, Ore. – Oregon State (42-14)
  • Fayetteville, Ark. – Arkansas (43-14)
