The Ninth Southern Arizona High School Baseball All-Star Games are set for the Kino Annex Fields on Tuesday, but different from past years is the inclusion of underclassmen all-star games.
“These players are going into high school this fall and I felt it would be nice to include them so their high school coaches may watch and also to give them exposure to a big event,” said organizer Bill Leith, president of the Kino Baseball League.
The games are being dedicated to longtime local baseball coach Tony Gabusi, who recently passed away. Gabusi took part in previous all-star games as a coach.
The four games — two involving seniors and the other two with underclassmen — start at 7 p.m. (see field assignments below).
