Rincon beat Copper Hills 9-0 Monday night at Manzanita Park to advance to the Little League State Tournament set to start July 15 in Sierra Vista. Rincon will represent District 12, Canyon View will represent District 5 and Nogales will represent District 8.
Rincon went 4-0 at the District 12 tournament and this will be the first time Rincon has made it this far since the 2012 squad from the Vail area lost to Hawaii in the West Region in San Bernardino. Canyon View made it to region play last year and Sunnyside made it in 2018 and 2019.

Rincon scored two runs in the top of the first over Copper Hills on a two-run shot from Christian Diaz and that scored held up until Rincon scored a run in the fourth, three more in the fifth and three in the sixth. Hudson Haner collected 14 strikeouts and he scattered four hits to keep the team from Sahuarita off the bases. Jackson Dona had a double for Copper Hills.
Adam Sheppard had an RBI, Parker Barnes had an RBI, Rae Tanori went 2 for 2, Cody Brinkley had an RBI, as did Bryce Brown. Santi Reyes, Miguel Alvarez and Cruz Acuna saw action on the mound for Copper Hills.
