Marana’s flag football team is ranked No. 5 in the state among 6A teams, according to the first release of the power-rating rankings by the Arizona Interscholastic Association on Tuesday.
In their inaugural seasons, Sunnyside Unified School District schools Sunnyside and Desert View are in the top 20 of their respective conference.
Sunnyside (6-2) is No. 18 in the 6A and Desert View (3-5) is No. 15 in the 5A.
Southern Arizona is well represented in the 5A.
Joining Desert View, are No. 5 Casa Grande (6-2), No. 7 Marana Mountain View (4-2), No. 8 Buena (5-2) and No. 11 Nogales (3-1).
