Pueblo sophomore Elizabeth Valenzuela-Smith and her older brother Jozeph had successful performances in the prestigious Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Folkstyle Nationals at Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend.
Elizabeth placed third in the 110-pound competition involving high school-age girls.
Jozeph, a junior with the Warriors, was sixth at 157 pounds in the Boys Showcase division.
Elizabeth, wrestling as part of the Arizona Girls Wrestling Club, won four consecutive matches in the consolation bracket after reaching the quarterfinals of the championship bracket.
