The Pima Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams — both NJCAA Region I, Division II tournament champions — are heading to their respective NJCAA Division II national tournaments with the men the No. 1 seed in their bracket.
The Aztecs men (32-0, program record for most wins in a season) will play at the Mary Miller Center in Danville, Ill., from Monday through March 22. They will play the winner of the first-round match between No. 16 seed SUNY Niagara (N.Y.) and No. 17 seed Oakland (Mich.) Community College next Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., Tucson time.

Pima’s women’s team (26-5 and on a nine-game winning streak) is the No. 6 seed in their tournament held at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin, Mo., from Monday through March 17-22. The Aztecs will face No. 11 North Central Missouri College on Monday at 6:00 p.m., Tucson time.
