Salpointe graduate Anyssa Wild drove in three runs with a double.

Arizona took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Stoddard’s 11th home run of the season. She blasted a two-run homer to centerfield to put the Wildcats on the board.

In the third, Arizona scored four runs to take a 6-0 lead over BYU (20-7, 4-3). The Cougars played their first home game of the season.

Sydney Stewart drove in the first run of the inning with a single to the pitcher. Wild hit a bases-clearing double – her first career double – to drive in three more runs.

Arizona plated two more in the fifth to extend its lead to 8-0 over the Cougars. Netz then blasted her home run, a two-run shot to left field.

Arizona will continue the series against BYU on Friday at 4 p.m.
