Streuber’s 20 strikeouts are one shy of the state record held by four different pitchers. She is the eighth pitcher in state history to reach 20 strikeouts in a game.
“I didn’t even know until five minutes ago,” Streuber said after the game to Richard Smith of West Valley Preps of the Daily Independent. “When I’m locked in, I’m locked in. I went into the game thinking nobody can hit this ball off me and I’m not going to let anyone past me.”

“When I went up to bat I was just trusting my hands and trusting my swing. I was listening to Coach (Kelly) Fowler on what I had to do,” Machado said to Smith. “I kept my hands up on the rise ball and spanked the inside pitch.”
