NOTES
— Former Arizona RHP Trevor Long was activated by the Seattle Mariners after spending the entire season on the 60-day injured list with an undisclosed injury (major-league teams are not required to list specific injuries). He was an important arm out of the bullpen last year when Single-A Modesto won the California League championship. In 13 games, he was 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA and a save. He allowed six hits and four walks with 13 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings.
— OF Rob Refsnyder, the 2012 College World Series MVP when Arizona won the title, was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Boston Red Sox because of a left oblique strain. It’s the first time this season and the eighth time overall that he has gone to the injured list in his 10-year major-league career.
