Pusch Ridge Christian Academy remained unbeaten at 4-0 after winning 35-0 at home against Catalina Foothills High School on Thursday.

Race Pinneo had more than 220 total yards and added three touchdowns to his stat line. Cameron Shoaff did it on both the offensive side, 92 yards rushing and a touchdown, and had an interception.

Pusch Ridge had four rushing touchdowns overall in the game. Both Pinneo and Shoaff were quick to give their offensive linemen a lot of the credit after the game.

“Shoutout, to my O-line; those holes were massive,” said Shoaff.

Pinneo said, “They were absolutely fantastic tonigh. … They’re such a big piece of our team, I can’t do anything I’m able to do tonight without them.”

After starting the game about an hour late due to lightning, both teams had multiple turnovers in the first half.

Pusch Ridge opened with the only score before halftime, on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Pinneo to Levi Adcock.

“We were making a lot mistakes, and we felt like we needed to clean somethings up,” head coach Kent Middleton said.

The Lions bounced back strongly, putting up 28 points in the second half, two from Pinneo, and two more from Cameron and Dylan Shoaff, all in the running game.

Adcock spoke about the shutout, “It means the most to all defensive guy. … It’s a personal win, it’s great for us.”

Despite a 4-0 start to the season, Middleton and Pinneo had the same feeling of what is ahead.

“Next week we’re 0-0. … We just have to take it one game at a time,” said Middleton.

Pinneo said, “We just have to keep focusing on next week.”

The Lions are on a 16-game winning streak that dates to last season when it won the 3A state title.

Pusch Ridge will play Florence next week and Catalina Foothills will look to bounce back at Snowflake.
