How rare is it for a player to accumulate more than 100 yards receiving and 100 yards rushing in one game?
Out of the hundreds of players in Southern Arizona who competed in games Thursday and Friday in Week 4, only one achieved that feat — Tucson High senior swiss-knife-of-a-player Noah Chanez.
Chanez rushed 11 times for 112 yards with a touchdown and also had eight receptions for 170 yards and a touchdown in Tucson’s 27-16 win at Walden Grove. It was the Badgers’ first win of the season, improving to 1-2.
Those were season-high totals in each category for Chanez, who has 1,524 receiving yards (107 receptions) and 1,459 rushing yards (206 carries) in his four-year varsity career.
For his performance in Friday’s win at Walden Grove, Chanez is the Week 4 APS Digital Print/Frog & Firkin Player of the Week.
