
Buena senior linebacker Cooper Kraus reached 300 career tackles in his three years at the varsity level in grand style, tallying a career-high 20 against visiting Canyon del Oro in a 35-17 win Friday.
Kraus, 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, had 1.5 tackles for loss, including a sack, and recorded two quarterback hurries.
He leads the state with 144 tackles this season, 18 more than the next player (Mesa Eastmark linebacker Bryson Bowman, who has 126). The 144 tackles rank 25th nationally.
