AllSportsTucson.com has reached out for high school seniors to write the class of 2020 a letter during this unique time of their schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today’s letter was written by Tucson High catcher Kelli Samorano, who will next play softball at Pima Community College.
Dear Class of 2020,
With our senior year coming to such an abrupt end, it has brought out many unexpected feelings that we never thought we would show. These uncertain times have definitely helped us express how much we really love and appreciate the years of hard work and dedication that got us to this point in our lives. Although we’ve had our ups and downs along the way, I know we can all look back on and cherish the endless memories that high school has created for us.
It all started with the feeling of extreme intimidation by the enormous Tucson High campus on the first day of registration to having the time of our lives at the exciting football games and pep assemblies. Along with all the other memories that were created during high school, I would like to thank everyone that made my experience so unforgettable, especially to my coaches who contributed their time and effort and to my softball team for the endless laughter and friendships that were made on the field.
Although it might be hard to say goodbye to this part of our lives, I know that what’s waiting in our futures holds much more greatness and opportunities that will help us succeed. With that being said, I would like to say congratulations to the Class of 2020 who will never be forgotten!
Sincerely,
Kelli Samorano
