Sahuaro High School lineman Jonah Miller, who transferred from Salpointe Catholic to play part of his senior year this season with the Cougars, announced today via Twitter that he has committed to Oregon.
Miller, a tackle who is 6-foot-8 and 285 pounds, is a four-star recruit as rated by 247Sports. He commited to Oregon coach Mario Cristobal over Washington, USC and ASU. He considered Arizona but the Wildcats were not high on his list.
Per Arizona Interscholastic Association rules, Miller must sit the first five games this season before playing for Scott McKee’s Sahuaro program. He has the right to make an appeal.

“I want to thank my parents, my brothers and my sister, my grandparents, and all of my family,” Miller posted to social media. “I want to thank my coaches over the years, specifically. I could not have had a better coach than (former Salpointe) coach Dennis Bene. I got to play for the best offensive line coach in Arizona in coach Al Alexander, who is also my godparent along with his wife, Lilly. I want to thank coach Sooy, coach Bushey, coach Hayward, coach Paquett, coach Todd Swanson, coach Schlagel, coach Ali Farhang, and coach John Fina. Each and every one of you have impacted my life in a positive and fantastic way. I couldn’t have done what I’ve done so far without your guidance and coach. Thank you again to all that helped me reach this point.”
Miller is rated the nation’s No. 25 offensive tackle and No. 267 overall prospect, according to 247Sports.
He is the fifth prospect who played at Salpointe last year who will leave Tucson for a Division I program — Bijan Robinson to Texas, Lathan Ransom to Ohio State, Bruno Fina to UCLA and Trent Strong to SMU. Robinson, Ransom, Bruno Fina and Strong were Class of 2020 recruits. Strong will be a preferred walk-on at SMU.
