BREAKING: Salpointe and Benson advance to the semifinal round due to COVID

For the second year in a row, the Salpointe Lancers will advance to the Open Division semifinal round but this year the advancement is due to a COVID situation with No. 3 Saguaro causing the Sabercats to forfeit the quarterfinal match scheduled for this Friday.

In addition, Benson is the top seed in the 2A playoffs and the Bobcats will also advance of the semifinal round with No. 8 Morenci needing to forfeit due to COVID issues.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27

Open: No. 6 Salpointe over No. 3 Saguaro (F)
3A: No. 5 Wickenburg at No. 4 Pusch Ridge, 7 p.m.
2A: No. 1 Benson over No. 8 Morenci (F)
2A: No. 6 Scottsdale Prep at No. 3 Santa Cruz, 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5

STATE SEMIFINALS
OPEN: No. 6 Salpointe vs. No. 2 Hamilton/No. 7 Corona del Sol, 7 p.m.
2A: No. 1 Benson vs. No. 4 AZ Lutheran/No. 5 Parker at Higley, TBD
