Longtime Little League coach, volunteer and umpire Steve Lawley passed away on Saturday according to his family. Born in 1964, Lawley spent the last 24 years of his generous life donating his time and expertise to the children of Continental Ranch Little League, District 5 Little League and to the children of the greater West Region.
I’ve known Steve for a dozen years or so and I found him to be the gentlest of men, the kind my father taught me were difficult to find and even more difficult to hold onto because they are often here and gone.
Close friends have set up a gofundme link to help his family in their time of need. As a volunteer, Steve never asked for much of anything but he was always there for a friendly talk and a smile. Please consider helping him now.
Steve, and his family, are deeply religious and spiritual. Take a moment to think about his family and offer prayer if possible but do open your heart in hopes that we might find more like Steve because we need them here, not gone.
